Snoop Dogg Launches First Marijuana Dispensary and New Cannabis Line Honoring 2Pac

Snoop Dogg is elevating his marijuana legacy by opening his first licensed dispensary and introducing a new line of cannabis products dedicated to rapper 2Pac.

Renowned for his association with marijuana, Snoop has made cannabis culture integral to his personal and professional life. Now, he’s entering California’s legal cannabis market with the launch of his Los Angeles-based dispensary, S.W.E.D., an acronym for “Smoke Weed Every Day.”

The dispensary pays homage to Snoop’s career with Death Row Records, a label he acquired in 2022. It features a smoke-proof DJ booth for Snoop to enjoy cannabis while spinning music, memorabilia from the label, and graffiti quotes from the artist himself.

A standout feature of the dispensary is its curated selection of marijuana products, including a new line of limited-edition items from Snoop’s Death Row Records Cannabis brand. This product line is a tribute to the late rapper Tupac Shakur, or 2Pac, who was a close friend of Snoop’s before his untimely death in 1996. Snoop credits 2Pac with introducing him to his first blunt, sparking a lasting friendship.

“That first blunt sparked a friendship that ran deep,” Snoop stated in a press release. “We’ll always have his music, but this is another way I can bring what was meaningful to 2Pac to his fans.”

Snoop Dogg has been active in the cannabis industry for years. In 2015, he launched another marijuana brand, Leafs By Snoop, in Colorado.

Snoop’s influence in cannabis culture extends beyond consumption. Last year, late-night TV host Jimmy Kimmel celebrated Snoop’s birthday, October 20, as the “new high holiday” of DoggFather’s Day. Besides his reputation as a consumer, Snoop is also a vocal advocate for cannabis reform. He has pushed for policy changes in professional sports, notably urging the NBA to allow players to use cannabis off the court.

He supports cannabis reform due to its medical benefits and potential to reduce reliance on opioids and other prescription medications. Snoop has consistently promoted the idea that cannabis can be a safer alternative to prescription opioids, especially for athletes.

In 2019, Snoop made headlines by revealing that he pays a person upwards of $50,000 a year to roll his blunts, further cementing his deep connection to cannabis culture.
